This role reports to the Avi-on offices in Park City, Utah. Jeremy Ranch Exit on I-80, northwest of Park City, Utah. Actual location of work varies between the office and customer sites. We are seeking candidates who live in geographic areas where we have customers, and during “off” times, this role will travel to the Park City office to assist the team there.

This is a full-time position with benefits that include paid time-off, sick leave, paid holidays, health and supplemental insurance, stock options, and 401(k). Compensation will be commensurate with experience. No relocation package is available. Some remote work is possible for a candidate who is able to prioritize their own tasks and deliver results with minimal supervision. Travel is likely.

This role focuses on providing on-site start-up/provisioning services and technical support for Avi-on products to end users, contractors, engineers, field technicians, and others. Support includes, but is not limited to, on-site programming of new installations, reprogramming existing systems, remote diagnostics, troubleshooting and repairing malfunctioning systems. When not in the field, responsibilities also include providing remote technical support via phone and email to internal and external customers, and on occasion, supporting onboard training for partners designing and provisioning.

JOB DESCRIPTION What you’ll be responsible for…

  • Warehouse and/or On-site Project Commissioning: Perform programming of wireless lighting control/digital lighting systems, troubleshooting and repairing malfunctioning systems, provide system training to end user.
  • Remote Technical Support: Offer phone and written support for all controls products to both internal and external customers.
  • Pre-Installation Coordination: As needed, stage and pre-commission lighting control systems to facilitate easier/faster onsite provisioning.
  • Site Coordination: Maintain daily communications with contractors and end users to ensure schedule alignment, proper follow-up, and resolution to punch list items, delivering superior customer satisfaction.
  • Post-Installation Job Reporting: Complete accurate and timely “As-Programmed” service logs.
  • OEM Partner Coordination: Provide technical support of partner OEM integrations, including remote product demonstrations and technical guidance on quick setup.
  • Escalations: Utilize appropriate process to resolve customer service delivery issues and conducting root cause analysis that will lead to effective problem solving.
  • Technical Customer Communications: You’ll work with the product team to create technical and qualitative content to nurture relationships and add value.
  • Technical Customer Support. As part of the sales and marketing team, you will provide direct customer support before, during, and after the sale for all customers on the Avi-on platform.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently, and methodically problem solve, often onsite at customer job site.
  • Strong Project Management skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects/delivery schedules at a given time.
  • Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills, and a passion for taking care of the customer.
  • Both personal and professional interest and hands-on experience in lighting, wiring, electronics, and automation. (You can talk volts, amps, watts, loads, and resistors.)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • 7+ years of Field Service experience with networked systems or related experience
  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or similar work experience.

This role reports to Director of Customer Delivery, and takes additional direction from other members of the management team. The position is remote, ideally somewhere on the east coast and convenient to a major airport for efficient flights to support area. Travel varies with business needs but could be up to 75% including travel to Avi-on headquarters in Park City, UT. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and it will include a stock option plan.
